I'm thinking to maybe apply thicker coats of paint as I don't know what else to do that will stop the chipping. I'm kind of reluctant to do clients now because from my experience the paint just chips It's killing my confidence.. Thicker coats will make chipping more likely not less.

I have to say it looks like your application has got into your skin or the skin a bit nr the cuticle area? Well no it wouldn't cause chipping but it wouldn't last very well if it's on the skin sorry just saying. You don't need to cap with both colour coats, that just makes the tip thick.
